AV Setup and Monitoring

Support the technical backbone of the Village. You'll help mount cameras, test projectors, manage audio feeds, and monitor session recordings to ensure every talk is captured cleanly. Quick thinking and comfort with gear (tripods, mixers, OBS) go a long way here. It's one of the more high-pressure roles during live sessions.

Help run and moderate our geolocation-based OSINT challenge. You'll guide players, answer questions, validate submissions, and log progress. This is where OSINT and geography collide — precision and patience are key.

Speaker & Workshop Ops

Coordinate with speakers before and during their talks. You’ll handle timekeeping, pre-talk tech checks, and make sure their slides are loaded and ready. A good Speaker Ops crew means fewer delays and smoother sessions. This includes supporting speakers across DEFCON Creator stages and helping them collect their speaker kits at RV too.

Crowd Control Management

DEFCON gets intense — and packed. Your job is to guide attendees at entrances, manage queues for talks/workshops, and ensure smooth movement across the Village. Friendly but firm, you'll be the face people turn to when they don’t know where to go or what to do next.
