Community Outreach & Step Into Joy Ambassador

Community Outreach & Step Into Joy Ambassadors are passionate connectors who represent Oakwood Creative Care in the community and help introduce new people to our mission. Whether welcoming guests at a Step Into Joy Tour or representing Oakwood at a health expo, caregiver fair, or community event, volunteers help families discover programs and resources that may make a meaningful difference in their lives. Volunteers may help with: Personally invite friends, family, colleagues, and community contacts to attend a Step Into Joy Tour Welcome and engage guests during tours and community events Staff Oakwood informational tables at health expos, caregiver fairs, neurological events, and other community gatherings Share basic information about Oakwood’s programs, services, and mission Engage attendees in warm, conversational outreach Identify individuals and families who may benefit from Oakwood’s services and help guide them toward next steps Collect contact information from interested individuals with permission and share it with OCC staff Assist with registration, materials, refreshments, and other event needs Share your personal connection to Oakwood and why our mission matters to you Training & Support: Volunteers complete a brief one-time Outreach Volunteer Training before attending their first outreach event. OCC provides talking points, invitation templates, brochures, banners, table supplies, and other materials. Commitment: 1–2 hours for one-time training; typically 2–4 hours per outreach event or Step Into Joy Tour.
